About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Panel Technician to join a busy and professional Bodyshop team. In this role, you will undertake high-quality panel repairs and replacements, ensuring all work meets manufacturer standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations.
This is a hands-on technical position suited to someone who takes pride in precise workmanship, follows approved repair methods, and has strong experience in structural and cosmetic body repairs.
Key Responsibilities
Panel Repair & Replacement
- Carry out panel repairs and replacements to manufacturer and industry standards.
- Use correct welding techniques and approved repair procedures.
- Interpret and follow technical data, repair methods, and job card instructions.
- Operate body alignment and straightening equipment accurately.
Quality & Customer Satisfaction
- Complete repairs within estimated timescales.
- Ensure all vehicles meet safety and quality standards before handover.
- Protect customer vehicles and property while in the workshop.
- Maintain a high level of workmanship to support strong CSI scores.
Fault Detection & Reporting
- Detect and report additional faults or damage discovered during repairs.
- Record all findings accurately on job cards.
- Communicate additional structural or panel damage directly to the Estimator.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Accurately record materials, components, consumables, and labour hours.
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free working environment.
- Follow all health & safety, environmental, recycling, and internal company policies.
- Maintain tools, welding equipment, and repair machinery in accordance with company standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Panel Beater / Panel Technician in a Bodyshop.
- Strong welding and body repair skills with knowledge of modern repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical repair instructions.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs.
- Understanding of workshop safety and compliance requirements.
- Reliable, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
