About the Role
We are looking for an experienced MET Technician to join a busy, high-performing Bodyshop team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate removal, repair, and refitting of Mechanical, Electrical, and Trim (MET) components on a wide range of vehicles.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to diagnose additional issues during repair. You’ll work closely with Bodyshop estimators, technicians, and managers to ensure every repair meets manufacturer standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (MET) Repairs
- Accurately remove, repair, and refit mechanical, electrical, and trim components.
- Ensure all repairs follow manufacturer procedures and industry best practice.
- Use alignment and diagnostic equipment correctly and safely.
- Interpret technical data, repair methods, and job cards accurately.
Quality & Customer Satisfaction
- Complete all assigned work within estimated times.
- Ensure vehicles are safe, roadworthy, and restored to the highest quality.
- Safeguard customer vehicles and property at all times.
- Contribute to high Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores.
Fault Detection & Additional Damage Reporting
- Detect, diagnose, and document any additional faults found during repair.
- Record all findings on job cards and notify the Estimator of extra damage.
- Recognise vehicle structural issues and report them promptly.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Follow all workshop health & safety, environmental, and recycling policies.
- Report accurate usage of components, materials, consumables, and labour hours.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in line with company policy.
- Support the Bodyshop Manager and Health & Safety Officer as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a MET Technician in a Bodyshop environment.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and automotive knowledge.
- Ability to interpret technical data and follow repair procedures.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach.
- Strong awareness of workshop safety and compliance standards.
