About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Paint Technician to join a high-performing Bodyshop team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate preparation, refinishing, and repainting of motor vehicles to the highest standard.
You will work with modern paint systems, manufacturer procedures, and approved repair methods to ensure consistent colour matching, flawless finishes, and full compliance with safety and quality expectations. This position is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent technical ability, and pride in their craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Painting & Refinishing
- Prepare and repaint motor vehicles to manufacturer and industry standards.
- Use paint mixing systems, colour matching tools, drying ovens, and repair equipment correctly.
- Read and follow technical data, paint specifications, and job card instructions accurately.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality paint finishes across all repairs.
Quality & Customer Satisfaction
- Complete repairs within estimated times.
- Ensure all vehicles meet safety and finish standards before customer handover.
- Protect customer vehicles and property at all times.
- Deliver work that supports excellent Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) results.
Fault Detection & Documentation
- Identify paint defects, damage, or additional repair needs during preparation or refinishing.
- Record all findings accurately on job cards.
- Report any extra damage directly to the Estimator.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Accurately record usage of paint materials, consumables, components, and labour hours.
- Keep the work area, equipment, and spray oven clean, tidy, and hazard-free.
- Follow all health & safety, environmental, recycling, and internal Bodyshop policies.
- Maintain tools, spray guns, and equipment in line with company standards.
- Support the Bodyshop Manager and Health & Safety Officer when needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Paint Technician or automotive refinisher.
- Strong understanding of paint systems, spraying techniques, colour matching, and refinishing processes.
- Ability to follow repair methods and technical documentation accurately.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to flawless paint finishes.
- Strong awareness of workshop safety and compliance requirements.
- Reliable, efficient, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
